RIVERLIFE CHURCH STATEMENT OF FUNDAMENTAL TRUTHS
This Statement of Fundamental Truths is intended to serve as a foundation for unity and fellowship (i.e., that we all speak the same thing, 1 Corinthians 1:10; Acts 2:42). The terminology employed in this Statement is neither inspired nor defended, but the enumerated truths are considered indispensable for a full-gospel ministry. No claim is made that it encompasses the entirety of biblical truth; only that it satisfies our need in terms of these fundamental doctrines.
1. THE SCRIPTURES INSPIRED
We believe the Bible is the inspired and only infallible authoritative Word of God. It is the final authority on faith and conduct. (2 Timothy 3:16)
2. ONE GOD
We believe there is one God, eternally existence, in three persons: God, the Father, God, the son, and God, the Holy Spirit. (2 Corinthians 13:14).
3. THE DIETY OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST
We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious, and atoning death, in His bodily resurrection, and His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal future return to this earth, in power, and glory to rule 1,000 years. Matthew 16:16, 1Corinthians 15:3-4)
4. THE BLESSED HOPE
We believe in the Blessed hope, which is the rapture of the church at Christ’s coming. (Titus 2:13) (1Thessalonians 4:13-18)
5. SALVATION
We believe the only means from being cleansed from sin, is true repentance, and faith in the precious blood of Christ. (1 Peter 1:18) (1John 1:5-9)
6. NEW BIRTH
We believe in regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential for personal salvation. (John 3:3-5)
7. REDEMPTIVE WORK OF CHRIST
We believe the redemptive work of Christ on the cross provides healing of the human body in answer to believing prayer. (1 Peter 2:24)
8. THE BAPTISM OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit, according to Acts 2:4, is given to believers to ask for it. (Acts 2:39)
9. THE SANCTIFYING POWER OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
We believe in the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a holy life. (Galatians 5:16)
10. THE RESURRECTION OF BOTH THE SAVED AND THE LOST
We believe in the resurrection of both the saved, and the lost; the one to everlasting life, and the other to everlasting damnation. (John 5:28-29).
11. SACRAMENTS
We believe in water baptism by immersion. (Matthew 28:19)We believe in Water Baptism by immersion: Following faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, the new convert is commanded by the Word of God to be baptized in water in the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:38; Mark 16:16; Acts 8:12, 36-38; 10:47-48).
We believe in the Lord’s Supper: A unique time of communion in the presence of God when the elements of bread and grape juice (the Body and Blood of the Lord Jesus Christ) are taken in remembrance of Jesus’ sacrifice on the Cross (Matthew 26:26-29; I Corinthians 10:16, 11:23-25).
Marriage: We believe marriage is defined in the Bible as a covenant, a sacred bond between one man and one woman, instituted by and publicly entered into before God (Matthew 19:4-6).
12. SECOND COMING OF JESUS CHRIST
Jesus Christ will physically and visibly return to earth for the second time to establish His Kingdom. This will occur at a date undisclosed by the Scriptures (Matthew 24:30, 26:63-64; Acts 1:9-11; I Thessalonians 4:15-17; II Thessalonians 1:7-8; Revelation 1:7).
13. EVANGELISM
We believe in preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ and the kingdom of God to all the world, according to the command of Jesus Christ. Signs and wonders shall follow the believer as a confirmation of the Lord working with us by His Spirit to those to whom the gospel is preached. (Matthew 28:18-20, Mark 16:15-20)
リバーライフ教会 基本的信仰告白
この「基本的信仰告白」は、教会の一致と交わりの土台として用いるものである（Ⅰコリント1:10、使徒2:42）。ここで使用している言葉や表現そのものが霊感を受けたものではないが、記されている真理は「フルゴスペルの宣教」のために不可欠なものである。聖書の真理すべてを網羅するものではなく、ただ必要とされる基本教理を明確に示すものである。
1．聖書の霊感
私たちは、聖書は神によって霊感され、誤りなき神の権威あることばであり、信仰と生活の最終的な権威であると信じる。（Ⅱテモテ3:16）
2．唯一の神
私たちは、唯一なる神が永遠に存在し、父なる神、御子なる神、聖霊なる神という三位において存在されると信じる。（Ⅱコリント13:14）
3．主イエス・キリストの神性
私たちは、主イエス・キリストが真に神であられること、処女降誕、罪なき生涯、数々の奇跡、身代わりの贖いの死、身体をもっての復活、父の右に座しておられること、そして再び力と栄光をもって地上に来られ千年王国を統治されることを信じる。（マタイ16:16、Ⅰコリント15:3-4）
4．祝福された望み（携挙）
私たちは、キリストの再臨における教会の携挙という「祝福された望み」を信じる。（テトス2:13、Ⅰテサロニケ4:13-18）
5．救い
私たちは、罪から清められる唯一の道は、真の悔い改めと、キリストの尊い血への信仰であると信じる。（Ⅰペテロ1:18、Ⅰヨハネ1:5-9）
6．新生（新しく生まれること）
私たちは、救いを個人的に受けるためには、聖霊による新生が絶対に必要であると信じる。（ヨハネ3:3-5）
7．キリストによる贖いのみわざ
私たちは、十字架におけるキリストの贖いが、信じる祈りに応えて身体の癒しを与えると信じる。（Ⅰペテロ2:24）
8．聖霊のバプテスマ
私たちは、使徒2:4に示されるように、信じる者が求めると与えられる聖霊のバプテスマを信じる。（使徒2:39）
9．聖霊のきよめの力
私たちは、聖霊の内住によって、クリスチャンが聖い生活を生きることができると信じる。（ガラテヤ5:16）
10．救われた者と失われた者の復活
私たちは、救われた者も失われた者も復活し、救われた者は永遠のいのちへ、失われた者は永遠のさばきへ至ると信じる。（ヨハネ5:28-29）
11．礼典（サクラメント）
◼ 水のバプテスマ
私たちは、イエス・キリストを信じた者に命じられた、浸礼による水のバプテスマを信じる。父と子と聖霊の御名によって、水の中に沈めて行う。（マタイ28:19、使徒2:38、マルコ16:16、使徒8:12,36-38、10:47-48）
◼ 聖餐（主の晩餐）
私たちは、パンとぶどう液を取って、主の十字架の犠牲を記念する、主の臨在の中での特別な交わりの時を信じる。（マタイ26:26-29、Ⅰコリント10:16、11:23-25）
◼ 結婚
私たちは、結婚は聖書によれば、神の前で公に結ばれる一人の男性と一人の女性との聖なる契約であると信じる。（マタイ19:4-6）
12．イエス・キリストの再臨
私たちは、イエス・キリストが肉体をもって、目に見える形で再び地上に来られ、御国を確立されることを信じる。この時は聖書に明示されていない。（マタイ24:30、26:63-64、使徒1:9-11、Ⅰテサロニケ4:15-17、Ⅱテサロニケ1:7-8、黙示録1:7）
13．宣教（福音伝道）
私たちは、イエス・キリストと神の国の福音を、世界のすべての人々に宣べ伝えることを信じる。主は御霊によって、御業のしるしをもって福音宣教を確認される。（マタイ28:18-20、マルコ16:15-20）
