When God speaks through you

2 Samuel 23:1-7

It’s easy to look at someone like David and focus on his accomplishments—king, warrior, psalmist. But in 2 Samuel 23:1–2, David points to something far more important. He doesn’t highlight his success; he highlights God’s grace. He was raised up, anointed, and used by God. Then he makes a powerful statement: “The Spirit of the LORD spoke by me, and His word was in my tongue.” David understood that the true source of anything meaningful in his life was not his ability, but God’s Spirit working through him.

This changes how we view our own lives. We often feel pressure to perform, to say the right things, or to live up to a standard in our own strength. But God’s Word does not come through human effort alone—it comes by the Spirit. Just as Scripture reminds us in 2 Peter 1:21 and 1 Corinthians 2:13, God speaks as His Spirit leads. The same is true for us today. When we walk with Him, depend on Him, and stay rooted in His Word, He can speak through our lives in ways far beyond our natural ability.

The encouragement here is simple but powerful: you don’t have to manufacture something spiritual—God produces it in you. Your role is not to strive, but to stay close to Him. As you listen, trust, and yield to the Holy Spirit, your words, your actions, and even your influence can become vessels for His truth. That’s where real impact begins—not with human effort, but with God speaking through a surrendered heart.
